R v AM
The defendant was accused of immigration fraud (Sec 24) by using deception to remain in the UK. I conducted the trial and cross-examined the UKBA officers. After the trial, the defendant was found not guilty and was acquitted.
R v TF
The case concerned a global probe into financial scams through websites committing cybercrime. This scam led to an estimated £48m loss in the UK and over £100m globally, with around 10 million fraudulent calls in a year. The Irish police conducted searches in several counties, seizing 132 electronic devices and identifying 64 suspect bank accounts. The operation, involving international law enforcement, aims to dismantle organised crime groups responsible for these scams. The website was shut down on November 9 by US and Ukrainian officials.

The defendant was accused of slavery by knowingly holding a person in servitude.
R v AOS
Represented a defendant who was accused of importation of cocaine. UKBA intercepted a parcel at Gatwick Airport and found drugs inside it. The drugs were replaced with dummy substances by police and delivered to the defendant’s home address.

The defendant was interviewed at the police station for a supply of drugs, namely cocaine and cannabis. The prosecution decided to take no further action after his interview at the police station.

Representing the defendant, who is a Romanian national who has been sentenced to five years and two months imprisonment in Romania for Drug Trafficking and Fraud. The Client contented the extradition to Romanian, a designated Category 1 territory, for the purpose of Part 1 of the Extradition Act 2003.
